I try to focus on my book, yet the noise from the hall is too loud. My sister has caused another scandal: she has conceived His Majesty's child. Queen Catherine is wrothful at His Majesty for his role in the matter, and the court is afire with gossip. My sister has returned to Hever to deliver her child, which to be fair is for the best: I would not want her to hear their words.

There are women in the hallway speaking ill of her, yet it was the King who played equal part. I can hear their laughter, their mockery. I put down my book, approaching the gaggle.
