Another of the great palaces of Tudor England Whitehall was one of Henry viii's favourites and this palace was sadly burnt down in the 17th century.

Hampton court was the favourite residence of Henry viii. The palace had originally been built by Cardinal Wolsey but was handed over to Henry viii after Wolsey's downfall. Jane Seymour gave birth to Edward vi here in 1537.

St James palace was one of the main Tudor residences and owned by Henry viii and it was also the palace where his daughter Mary died in 1558.

Greenwich Palace was a famous Tudor residence and it was the birthplace of Elizabeth I and it was one of Henry's favourite residences. It is also known as the Palace of Placentia and sadly the palace no longer exists but the present day Royal Observatory stands on site where it was located.

Westminster Palace is located in the city of Westminster in London and on the Thames river and it was a well used palace during Tudor England. The palace today is home to the English Parliament but has all the original interiors of the Tudor dynasty. Westminster has a famous clocktower known as Big Ben.

Richmond Palace was a royal residence that was built by Henry viii in the early 1500's and was a favourite residence of Queen Elizabeth I who died there in 1603.

Lambeth Palace is the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury and it is located not far from the Palace of Westminster.

The Palace of Placentia was an English Royal Palace built by Humphrey, Duke of Gloucester, in 1443, in Greenwich, on the banks of the River Thames, downstream from London. It was demolished by Charles II in 1660, to make way for a new palace which was never constructed.

Buckden Towers, formerly known as Buckden Palace, is a 12th-century fortified house, located on High Street, Buckden, Cambridgeshire, England.

Hever Castle is a beautiful castle located in the county of Kent. Hever was the childhood home of the Boleyn family and it was where Anne spent a lot of her time as a child. Hever has some of the prettiest gardens in England and it was believed it was here where Henry first met with Anne Boleyn upon his visit.

Kimbolton Castle is a country house located in Cambridgeshire. It was the final home of Henry viii's first wife Katherine of Aragon. It started life as a castle but was converted into a stately palace. It was here that Katherine of Aragon died in January 1536.

Allington Castle was a castle built in the 12th century but the place was torn down during the resurgence of the monarchy in the 13th century. Allington went on to be converted into a manor house.

Windsor Castle has been a royal residence for nearly 900 years and it is still used today and Elizabeth I stayed here many times during her reign. At Windsor is At George's Chapel which is where Henry Viii is buried with Jane Seymour and his son Edward VI.

Eastnor Castle is a castle located in the Herefordshire countryside and it has been for years the home of the Cocks family. It was built in the early 1500's by it's founder and has been updated over the years.

The Tower of London is one of the oldest buildings in England. It was constructed by William the Conqueror in the 11th century and during its time has been both a palace and a prison and is best known as a prison. At the Tower of London the monarchs were prepared for their coronation and it is also home to the Crown Jewels. Two of Henry's wives were executed at the Tower these being Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard.

Southampton Castle is an old Castle that was built after the Norman conquest of England. It was mainly converted to stone in the 12th century and it played a keep part in trade deals before falling into disrepair in the 14th century and later as well.

Leeds Castle was built in the 12th century and in 13th century it came into the hands of Edward I who used it as a residence. It became one of his favourite residences. In the 16th century it became a dwelling for Henry viii first wife Catherine of Aragon.

Kenilworth Castle is a castle located in Leicestershire that began it's construction in Norman times right through to Tudor era where new buildings were added to it. Here Robert Dudley held a great festivity for Elizabeth I. The castle was later ruined during the civil war.

Dover Castle is a castle that is located on the Kent coast and it has mainly served as a defensive fortress against enemy invaders from the channel. From Dover tunnels were built allowing access straight to coast below.

Sudeley Castle was the home of Catherine Parr following her marriage to King Henry Viii. It is a beautiful building believed to have been built during the 15th century.

Warwick Castle is one of the oldest castles in England. It was built by William the Conqueror and it was extracted from the base of a wooden fort. Warwick played a key part during the Wars of the Roses.

Pontefract Castle is a castle ruin in the town of Pontefract, in West Yorkshire, England. King Richard II is thought to have died there. It was the site of a series of famous sieges during the 17th-century English Civil War.

Bolebroke Castle is a Medieval castle built in 1480. Henry viii stayed here whilst he was on his first hunting trip. It was believed it was from here at Bolebroke Castle that he began his courtship of Anne Boleyn.

Croft Castle dates as far back as the 11th century and the present castle dates from the 14th century. Croft is the home of the Croft family from where it gets it's name.

Codnor Castle is a ruined 13th-century castle in Derbyshire, England. The land around Codnor came under the jurisdiction of William Peverel after the Norman conquest.

In 1527, the castle played host to Cardinal Wolsey, Sir Thomas More and the Earl of Derby and on November 20th 1532 King Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, Sir Francis Weston and Sir Francis Bryan were among its guests.

Herstmonceux Castle is a brick built castle dating from the early 15th century. The construction began in 1441. In the 1540's the castle was confiscated by King Henry Viii before returning into the hands of its original family during his children reigns. The castle was dismantled in 1777 and later restored.

Bolton Castle is a 14th century castle located in Yorkshire. The castle was built between 1378 and 1399 by the 1st member of the Scope family and is an example of a quadrangular castle. Bolton Castle was damaged during the English Civil War and the castle is still in the hands of the Scope family.

Raby Castle is a medieval castle located near Staindrop in County Durham, England, among 200 acres of deer park. It was built by John Neville, 3rd Baron Neville de Raby, between approximately 1367 and 1390. Cecily Neville, the mother of the Kings Edward IV and Richard III, was born here.

Grimsthorpe Castle is a country house in Lincolnshire, England 4 miles (6.4 km) north-west of Bourne on the A151. It lies within a 3,000 acre (12 km²) park of rolling pastures, lakes, and woodland landscaped by Capability Brown. While Grimsthorpe is not a castle in the strict sense of the word, its character is massive and martial – the towers and outlying pavilions recalling the bastions of a great fortress in classical dress. Grimsthorpe has been the home of the de Eresby family since 1516.

Brougham Castle is a medieval building about 2 miles south-east of Penrith, Cumbria, England. The castle was founded by Robert I de Vieuxpont in the early 13th century. The site, near the confluence of the rivers, Eamont and Lowther, had been chosen by the Romans for a Roman fort called Brocavum.

Baynard's Castle refers to buildings on two neighbouring sites in the City of London, between where Blackfriars Station and St Paul's Cathedral now stand. Dudley Castle is a ruined fortification in the town of Dudley, West Midlands, England. Originally a wooden motte and bailey castle built soon after the Norman Conquest, it was rebuilt as a stone fortification during the twelfth century but subsequently demolished on the orders of King Henry II. Rebuilding of the castle took place from the second half of the thirteenth century and culminated in the construction of a range of buildings within the fortifications by John Dudley. The fortifications were slighted by order of Parliament during the English Civil War and the residential buildings destroyed by fire in 1750. In the nineteenth and early twentieth century the site was used for fêtes and pageants.
