The Rose Garden

I had invited my sons bride to Sweden to meet ahead of their wedding day. What I also wanted to see was if this woman was suitable for my son and the position of Queen of Sweden.

I had invited her for a walk in the rose garden and today I had decided to wear a pink gown with matching earrings but with a diamond necklace. I waited for the young Princess.

I was happy that Henry told me that I go with Queen Magda Olson. To Sweden I am there to meet her before the wedding so that we can get together and learn about each other. She must know that I love Gustav very much and this will be the way for her to see this. .

She come into the room and she looks beautiful she wears a pink gown and it matches the blush on her cheeks. I knew that she was beautiful but I was not prepared for her to be this beautiful. I hope that she will approve me.. when I walk into the room I am wearing a blue dress with gold necklace and earrings I hope that she will approve of me. When she comes before me I curtsy to pay my respects for her.

I was in my room and I see enter before me the young Princess Mary Tudor.
I look at her as she did look most fine in her blue gown.

"You must be Princess Mary may I first welcome you to Sweden and soon to be your home too.

I was escorted to were the queen was sitting.   She was beautiful more than imagine. I curtsied before her.  .  I thank you for having me to your home.  My I say that your are so beautiful and your home is amazing.  I hope that we can get together to get to know each other.  I would love to know you better.  .

I smiled at the young princess.
"Your are most welcome here and your words are very kind my dear. Please come join me for some tea and we can talk further if you wish?

Good day dear love. I am glad that we met here. This garden is so beautiful and quiet. I love it here it lets me think. Are you happy to be home?. I thought that we could enjoy the day. Perhaps we could go riding. I can really see myself living here with you and your family.

I smiled as I met Mary in the garden.

"Mary I am so glad we met here too. You know this garden it is very peaceful and I always come here with my sisters Rebecca and Agnetha to remember our father. I am pleased to be back home in Sweden even though I did like your England a lot I am happy to be back where I am King and soon you are to be Sweden's new Queen Mary. We should ride together but also if you would like I am going to show you around the Palace and I believe mother has arranged a meeting with you this afternoon?

  Yes I would love to see the palace with you.  This a beautiful palace and I want to see it all.  I miss my father as well and I would have loved to have a place to visit to remember him and this garden gives me peace.  I am glad that you are happy to be home.  If we ride together this will be the first time we will ride together but hopefully not the last.  Your mother has arranged a meeting this afternoon I didn't know,  I will see her this afternoon as she requested. .   Smiling at him

"Mary I am sure that everything will be wonderful this afternoon when you meet my mother for I do believe most is to do with our wedding. I would not want this ride to be our last Mary for I have always had a passion for horses and do very much love to ride so I do hope that we can go on many fair rides together. Tell me about your father for I never knew him.

   My father was Henry VII and my mother was Elisabeth of York.  They were both good to me but I was daddy's girl. When he was sick and dying I sat with him everyday to keep him company. We love books and telling stories. My older sister Margaret went to Scotland so it just left me and Henry. We became very close. I had other siblings but they died.  .

"That is so nice of you Mary to have sat with your father in his last days but it must have been difficult to though. What happened to your mother if I may ask? Is it true what we hear from news in England that your brother Henry has now married the Lady Anne Boleyn? Can you tell me about her? I very much like books too and have a vast library here in Sweden.

   To me he was wonderful to me.  So I couldn't leave him alone when he needed me .  My mother was a true beauty, kind loving.  I think that she would have loved you and Sweden. Really I am not fond of Anne Boleyn she was one of the ladies-in waiting to Henry's first wife Catherine of Aragon.   I don't have to see her and Henry knows how I feel about him marring her but I hope that he will respect my feelings about her and he will come without her.  If she does come I hope that she will respect me as well.  But I will not let her ruin my wedding.  My special day to be with you.  My first dance with you and the next dance with Henry.  The way I wish it to be if it is alright with you my soon to be husband.

"Mary your mother sounds like a truly magnificient lady and it would have been such a pleasure to have met such a fine woman. When the invitations were sent for our wedding both King and Queen of England were invited so I would imagine Henry will bring her with him but please Mary do not fear for all will be fine as will our wedding. You will be a Queen soon and I am sorry you do not get along with his wife but if you are concerned maybe write to him asking for her to behave.

   Henry message me on when they should arrive.  He is happy to see how welcoming you and your mother has help me feel at home. I told him how wonderful you are.  I am excited to see all will come to see our nuptials.  Hopefully after our dance I may have a dance with him.  I even suggested that Anne and I have I enjoy ourselves.  This will be our day and wish for it to be an extinction of our love.

"Mary of course our wedding day will be the day that we express our true love to one another and we really do look forward to it as well. Your brother from what you have told me does sound like a fine man and I cannot wait to meet him and his Queen in person. I do hope that he approves of me and my family for I would not want to upset him Mary.

Yes Henry is a wonderful brother and I am sure that the theme of the wedding will be beautiful. As I know that you will be a handsome groom. Your mother and your sisters have been wonderful to me and I am sure that day will also help with the decorations for the wedding. It is all quite a secret to me. But they did tell me the colors so it will be from what I hear quite beautiful a Day to remember and really any day with you will be a Day to remember for I love you with all my heart.

"I love you with all of my heart as well and I cannot bear to be without you for you are very beautiful. Mother and my sisters they do know what they are doing when it comes to celebrations so you need not worry for they will make the day spectacular for you Mary.

Your mother has shown me the basic things of being a queen here. But I know something of being a queen for I was playing in France. But I know things are different here. I am happy for her assistance. I cannot wait to be your wife not just your queen for I love you dearly and with all of my heart. .

Our day is here. I am so happy that I will soon be his wife and Queen of Sweden. Our families and friends are here with us. The day is beautiful.
