King's Reception Room

[Henry VIII]

This was to be the room where i received people needing to speak with me.

As soon as I arrive at Whitehall Palace, the king's guards put themselves at my disposal to escort me to the King's Reception Room.

I am excited to see my father and he has told me that he has something for me so I am keen to find out what that will turn out to be.

[Henry VIII]

I waited patiently in my Reception Room for the arrival of my daughter Mary and with it the fine jewelled necklace I had for her.

I am so excited to see my father and he has something for me I know I will love it as I always like his gifts and surprises.

I haven't seen my parents for a while now so I hope they are pleased with my studies and how I will show them my dancing skills.

[Henry VIII]

I was informed that my daughter had arrived at court and in the dressing room I had laid out for her in a box a wonderful diamond and ruby necklace that I knew she would like and I told the guard to let her in.

My father makes a low respectful bow to me when he sees me come into the reception room.

I make a flambouyant deep curtsey to him, which pleases him and then we go to each other to hug.

You said you had something for me and I cannot imagine what more you could give me when I saw all the fine clothes in my rooms?

[Henry VIII]

I hug my daughter.

"Mary yes you see that little jewel box on the table just there please go and open it.

[Guest]

I pick up the pretty jewel box from the table and open it to find an exquisite Diamond and Ruby necklace.

Oh father it's beautiful, I will wear it tonight; it'll go with the red dress that you put on my bed

[Henry VIII]

"I knew you would like it Mary and I very much look forward to seeing you wear it tonight. You will stand out Mary and look beautiful as my daughter should.

[Guest]

My father likes to give me nice things so I hold up my new necklace to my neck in little girl fashion and pose to show the king how happy I am with it.

You always know which things I like and what will suit me and I will look amazing in the fine things you have gifted me on this visit. I hope I will have a chance to show myself to the courtiers tonight at the dancing after dinner.

I had summoned Margaret Pole to my chambers as I wished to speak with her privately on a matter .
